At the opposite of great naval battles, actions between lonely warships, mainly frigates, were many and some turned to be very famous.
The glorious actions of the USS Constitution have been and still are a favorite subject for many American artists.
In France, the "Capture of the Kent by Surcouf" from Garneray or the "Fight of the Mayonnaise" from Gudin are probably the most famous.
